QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Experience working with elementary school students preferred
  • Knowledge of relevant software applications (Word Processing/Spreadsheets)
  • Proficient in use of email and internet
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Keyboarding skills
  • Must be able to pass state and federal background check
  • Must be a willing and flexible worker
  • Regular attendance/punctuality
  • Money handling skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work under the direction of the school secretary and principal
  • Greeting/contacting the public
  • Answering phones and directing calls
  • Support transportion department calls and paperwork
  • Filing
  • Monitoring student attendance
    • Phone calls home
    • Contacting/follow-up with students who have been absent
    • Data input
    • Run daily reports
  • Assist with the monitoring of student meal accounts
  • Perform health room duties as necessary/distribute student medication and maintain mandatory records
  • Assist with students who need bus passes and calls to transportation
  • Manage co-curricular activities paperwork as necessary
    • Collecting, organizing, and entering sports paperwork
    • Contacting other (league/non-league) schools
  • Assign lockers and combinations
  • Assist in addressing the needs (questions, etc.) of students and staff
  • Assist with supervision before school and/or at lunch
  • Assist with breakfast and lunch entry point of service as needed
  • Assist with ASB money handling and record keeping
  • Other duties as assigned

 

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

           

Fulfill all other responsibilities as assigned.

The work environment is in a school that combines standard office equipment (fax, copier, phone, computer, 10-key, etc.) with the standard school setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate and occasionally high. May be exposed to blood borne pathogens.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee may be required to stand and stoop, crouch or crawl and climb stairs. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
